Completing work using a public link or QR code

Learn how to access and complete a work instruction or work order using a public link or QR code.

Written by Rory Broadbridge

Public links and QR codes allow users to complete work without first being invited to use HINDSITE.

Depending on how the work is shared, you'll either complete a single work instruction or join a work order containing multiple work instructions.

Completing a public work instruction (mobile only)

Scan the QR code or open the link you've been provided. If you don't already have the HINDSITE app installed, you'll be prompted to download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.

Open the app and create your HINDSITE account by entering your:

  • Email address

  • Full name

  • Password

You'll only need to do this the first time you access work through HINDSITE.

Tap the New work order button and enter a title for the work you're completing.

Once the work order is open, tap Start on the work instruction to begin. Complete each step, the tap Finish when you're done. Your work is automatically saved in HINDSITE.

Joining a public work order (web and mobile)

If you've been provided with a public work order link, you can access it from either the HINDSITE web platform or the mobile app.

Open the public link and if prompted to create a HINDSITE account, enter your:

  • Email address

  • Full name

  • Password

If you've already created an account, simply sign in.

You'll be take directly to the work order. Start or join any work instruction within the work order.

Your progress is saved automatically as you work, allowing you to leave and return later if required.
