Enabling a hold point

Navigate to the work instruction you want to edit and open it in the builder.

On the step where you want to apply a hold point, click Edit step. Choose the input field you want to control - this can be a single input or multiple inputs.

Tick Make input required. Tick the Hold point option.

How hold points work

Once enabled, the input becomes a soft pause in the work instruction:

  • Steps beyond the hold point will not be visible until the required input is completed

  • Users must complete the input before continuing

  • This ensures critical checks, approvals, or validations are not missed

Note: hold points can also be enabled on conditional inputs, allowing you to control the flow of work dynamically based on user responses.
