Adding a bill of materials to a work instruction

Add a bill or materials (BOM) to your work instructions to define the parts required for a job and ensure accurate tracking during execution.

Adding parts to a work instruction

Navigate to your work instruction and open it in the builder.

Click the Parts icon located near the Publish button.

Click Add Part, then search for the part you want to include using either the part number or the part description. Enter the required number of units for each part.

Additional options:

  • User confirmation required: turn this on to require users to confirm all required parts during execution.

  • Show parts in completed report: choose whether parts usage should be automatically displayed in the completed work instruction report.


Using Parts in the mobile app

When completing a work instruction, users can view and update their parts usage directly from the mobile app.

In an open work instruction, click the three dots in the top right corner of the screen, then select Parts used from the menu.

Review the required parts and quantities. Adjust usage counts if needed.

If extra parts are used, click Add part and search by part number or description. Click Done to save your updates.
