Note: Logging out of the HINDSITE app removes all downloaded content. If you've logged out, you'll need to download your work again before going offline.
Automatically download all work
Open the Menu tab and select Downloads.
Tap the Downloads button in the top right corner of your screen. Enable Auto Download.
HINDSITE will automatically download all Work instructions and work orders you have access to, including any new Work Instructions or Work Orders you have access to in the future.
When a green tick appears beside an item, it's available for offline use.
Downloading individual Work instructions
Open the Menu tab and select Downloads.
Tap the Downloads button.
Find the Work instruction you want to download and click Download.
Once a green tick appears next to the Work instruction, it’s ready to use offline.
Downloading individual Work orders
Open the Work order, tap the three dots in the top right corner of your screen and select Download.
Each Work instruction within the Work order will begin downloading. When a green tick appears next to each item, they're ready for offline use.
Going offline with an in progress work instructions
If you're working on a task and expect to lose internet connection, you should take the Work instruction offline before your connection drops.
This ensures your progress is safely stored on your device and prevents other users from continuing work on the same instruction while you're offline.
To do this, tap the three dot menu in the top-right corner and select Take Offline.
Once a Work instruction is offline, it is locked to your device. Other users won't be able to access or continue work until it has been handed over.
If you need someone else to continue the work, or you'd like to sync your progress back to HINDSITE before the work is complete, select Handover from the same menu. You can include optional handover notes, and Work instructions can be handed over as many times as required.
Coming back online
Any work completed while offline is stored locally on your device.
When your device reconnects to the internet:
Completed Work instructions will automatically sync to HINDSITE in the background.
In-progress Work instructions remain offline until you select Handover, which uploads your progress and makes the work instruction available for someone else to continue.
Note: Sync times may vary depending on the amount of data being uploaded, particularly if your work includes photos or other attachments. Everything will continue uploading in the background once you're connected.
